Sony HDR-CX106 Digital Camcorder is one such device that has attractive features provided in it. This device weighs 280 grams and has dimensions of 107 x 60 x 55mms.
This Sony digital camcorder uses a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens of focal length 3.2 - 32 mm to capture images with its still resolution of 3.98 megapixels. A CCD optical sensor of size 1/5” is used. The device offers 10x optical zoom and 150x digital zoom. Videos are recorded in AVCHD formats at recording speeds of SP, LP and HQ.
The device offers a minimum illumination of 6 lux, a digital image stabilizer and a filter of diameter 30mm. Images captured by the device are displayed on its 2.7 inches LCD screen and can be stored in a Memory Stick Duo. The maximum resolution of movie mode is 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Special effects such as Vivid, Landscape and Portrait can be applied to all the captured pictures. Focussing can be done both manually as well as automatically. There is a microphone that is inbuilt in the device that can be used to record audio. Other functions of the device are DVD archiving, Face detection and smile shutter function, BIONZ image processing, Easy Handycam feature, Quick-on mode, x.v.Colour technology, BRAVIA Sync technology and direct video upload to internet from PMB.
The device supports languages such as English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Greek, Thai, Turkish, Polish, Czech and Hungarian. Interfaces provided by the device include those with S-Video, Composite (Video), Audio (RCA), Component, USB 2.0 and HDMI. Sony HDR-CX106 3.98 MP Digital Camcorder operates on a NP-FH50 lithium battery that offers 1.5 hours of life. Other accessories that are provided with the device are Software, USB Cable, A/V Cable, Driver, AC Power Adapter and Battery Pack.
