This new Samsung Digital Camcorder has an amazing 34x optical zoom and 1200x digital zoom which brings all the action closer apart from recording in/on MiniDV tape format. It has an 800k pixel CCD and a 2.7” widescreen LCD view screen which can be utilised as a playback as well as a viewfinder.
Some of the key functions supported by the device are Voice plus dubbing system, Digital Image stabiliser, AV composite out, 10 Step power level indicator on screen, 12/16 bit audio processing in PCM stereo format, 16:9 widescreen recording, Auto focus, On-board speaker, Auto white balance, Macro mode, Long play mode, Date and time stamp, Fader for smooth transitions between scenes, Auto power-off facility and Backlight compensation.
DSP is the Audio format supported by the Samsung VP-D381/XEU 800K Digital Camcorder. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery is provided (charger included) the life of which is 80 minutes. The remaining battery life is also indicated. It has a Quick-start function, Night recording mode, Wind-filter to reduce background noise, Auto-standby mode, 24 frames-per-second recording, On-board editing features and it can be used as a web camera too.
A FireWire port is provided for DV output and other included accessories are Lens cap and AV cable. It is suitable for tripod use and has a 2.5 65mm focal length (35mm equiv.) while it weighs 340g.
