Government Should Boost The National Digital Industry
November 21, 2009
It is been said that the digital camcorder industry is seeking for State owned enterprises(SEO) to compete with international manufacturers. At a business person forum in Beijing, Feng Jun, founder of Aigo which is a consumer electronic producer said that he is hoping that the SOE would participate in digital camcorder industry as they are the only competitors for Japanese. Since 1999, about three SEO’s had left the digital camcorder industry due to the strong competition prevailing among the international brands like Samsung, Sony and more.
Though the business of Aigo digital camcorder lost about $8.8 million in its huge research and development cost in 2006 and 2007, this year the company has started yielding profit as the sales increased in the Chinese and European markets said Feng. Aigo launched its first HD digital camcorder in October which was priced $293 while the international brands priced approximately $732.50. Feng added that the government should boost the national digital industries as Japan’s and South Korea’s did.
